Sanitation & Recycling

Sanitation services in Audubon Park are currently provided by Waste Management under a multi-year contract. Waste Management has provided sanitation services to our community for over 15 years. They are extremely proud of the service they provide within Audubon Park.

Services provided under our current contract include:
  • Weekly garbage pickup on Wednesdays 
  • Bi-weekly Recycling pickup at the curb on Wednesdays. (Click on Recycling Information listing on the right)
  • Weekly yard waste pickup at the curb on Wednesdays. Must be in approved containers or bundled.
  • Monthly junk pickup of one large or bulky item at the curb such as a stove, hot water
    heater, furniture, etc. Upholstered furniture or mattresses must be wrapped in plastic. Schedule your pick by wm.com or call 1-800-607-9509
 
Missed Pickup:
  • If your garbage/yard waste/recycling was not picked up, please contact Andy Reynolds at Waste Management by calling 502-931-2616 or by e-mailing him at [email protected].
  • Make sure you identify your home address, specify what service was missed, and that you are a resident of Audubon Park in Louisville KY.

Get a Wheeled Recycling Bin or Wheeled Garbage Bin:
  • Residents receive one free recycling bin per household. If you are a new resident, contact the City Clerk at 637-5066 with your name and address to request a bin. These requests are usually filled within 24 hours if made during the work week.
  • Waste Management will provide large wheeled garbage bins at an additional cost of $2/month per bin. To order a bin, please contact (502) 966-0117 (Billing is usually handled on an annual basis)

Please note that items should not to be placed at the street earlier than the evening before collection to maintain the tidy appearance of our streets.

Yard Waste must be bundled, not to exceed 48 inches in length. Logs will not be accepted. These requirements remain the same when there is debris from storms. The City does not have a drop site for storm debris. Residents must use Metro drop sites for debris that won't meet pick requirement.
