Audubon Park Police
The Police Department consists of eighteen sworn officers. They provide 24 hour police protection and are a full service law enforcement agency including specialized sections of Criminal Investigations and Crime Prevention. Although the geographic boundaries of the City are relatively small, the officers of the police department carry their police powers throughout Jefferson County, Kentucky, and are duly certified by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training and the Police Officer Professional Standards Board.
Officers receive an initial 720 basic training through the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice with an annual 40 hour in-service training. The inter-departmental Training Unit also provides specialized training throughout the year, and officers are required to attend a bi-annual firearms training and qualification. In July 2005, the Audubon Park Police Department received the highest honor for Kentucky Law Enforcement Professionals. It was awarded the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police Accreditation. The department became one of only 64 out of 408 agencies in the state to receive this award. By meeting or exceeding over 100 professional standards of the Accreditation Board, the department became one of only a handful of smaller departments in the state to receive the award. We are now proud to display this award on their marked patrol vehicles, uniforms, and facilities. For emergencies: 911 Non-emergency: (502) 574-5471 Police Office: (502) 637-5066 ext 304 |
